With a degree in Agricultural Business/Marketing concentration I began appraising real estate in San Diego County in 1986 for Home Saving of America one of the largest Savings and Loan institutions in the nation. I stayed with them until Washington Mutual Bank took over in 1999. While with Home Savings of America I was trained as a staff appraiser and through the years was promoted to Senior Staff then to Chief Appraiser.. I stayed with Washington Mutual until 2001 when I formed Appraisal 1st Inc., an independent residential appraisal company specializing in the San Diego County area. I currently reside in Del Cerro a community of San Diego.
I am a "Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser" - this license allows me to appraise the following types of properties: Residential - residential properties without regard to the transaction value or complexity. Rural/agricultural - single family residential properties where production of agricultural income is not significant.- Other rural properties primarily used for recreation or other non-income producing purposes. Dean is also an "FHA Approved "appraiser and has been since 1994.
In Dean's 22 years of appraising he has seen major changes and shifts in the real estate market and has hands on experience with those factors which can effect the value of real estate.
When not appraising properties I am out spending time with my wife Leianna and son Noah. And if its not a sporting (golf, soccer, coaching youth sports)or recreational activities, then we are taking care of our cat and bearded dragon lizards.
